Much of the research and writing of this text was undertaken by Margaret Winstanley and Stephen Woodward, as employees of ASH (Australia). Following the winding-down of ASH in 1993, the Victorian Smoking and Health Program undertook completion and production of the book. Additional research and writing was provided by Noni Walker of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health.
This work has been produced with the objective of bringing about a reduction in death and disease levels due to smoking. Much of it has been derived from other published sources and these should be quoted where appropriate. The text may be freely reproduced and figures and graphs may be used, giving appropriate acknowledgement to Quit Victoria.
